More Snow

Due to the snow, I was unable to play at the piano recital. I had a really fancy, pretty piece to play too. Oh, well, maybe next time. I was going to play Paderewski's famous Minuet that is 6 pages long with lots of trills and fast runs. I've been working on it for a really long time.
The forecast says there might be a blizzard tonight. Unfortunately, they're saying that it should warm up by tomorrow morning. I hope that it gets really cold, snowy, & icey so that school is cancelled tomorrow. That be really nice.

College Cancelled!!!

Today it snowed again. Fortunately, this time, college was cancelled. I was so happy that I finally got a chance to sleep in. The snow has been the reason I haven't posted in a while. It snowed yesterday and today. We haven't had a ton of accumulation but there might be a blizzard tomorrow night. I'm hoping the predictions are correct. That'd be alot of fun...
My poor brother hasn't made it home in time for the first snow :.(
We usually go sledding together when it snows. Well Rabenstrange, if the weather holds, I can still beat you down the hill.

The Tour

The chocolate factory tour was SOOO much fun. And yes, there was as many free samples as you could eat at the end. It was reallly interesting seeing all of the machinery that was used in the chocolate making process. Did you know that they can't use any water in the process? In order to clean the beans, they put them through this machine that blows really hard and blows all the dirt off.
Also, Theo chocolate beans come from all over the world. They sell their chocolate according to where it came from. The different countries' chocolate tastes totally different. My favorite was the chocolate from Madagascar, it had an almost fruit like flavor.
Unfortunately, the chocolate was very expensive. The chocolate bars ranged from $3.25-$6.00. The confections were $1.50 each. The flavors were really interesting; chai tea, curry, bread n butter, vanilla, and coffee. Unlike chocolate that you buy at normal stores, this chocolate actually has alot of cocoa in it, including in the milk chocolate so it tastes much more intense.

Theo's

This afternoon, I'm going on a tour of a new chocolate factory in Seattle. It's called Theo Chocolates. The chocolate is SOOO good. My nutrition teacher brought some to class. Unfortunately, the chocolate is really expensive. The prices are in the Godiva range. The tour is only $5 though and I've heard theres enough samples to make you sick. If you're interested in seeing the sight click here.

Happy Birthday Zach!

Today is my little brother, Zach's birthday. He turned five though it hasn't seemed like it's been that long. Yesterday, my family had a big party for him. We'll be taking him to build-a-bear later this week for his present.

This weekend, Ri & I went to Aaron's filming. It was fun. We goofed around and shot a few scenes, then Evan took us out to Starbucks.

I can breathe.

I took my tests and now I finally have a break. Unfortunately, I have to go to a SLP at 3:00 to get all my highschool stuff lined up. This weekend is going to be crazy as I'm attending a babyshower on Saturday, my brother's b-day party on Sunday, & somehow squeezing in a filming a movie at Bellsquare on one of the evenings.
Tonight, I hope to rent a movie and have popcorn. But before then, I'll probably meet with Kathleen and go biking or on a walk.
I'm sooo sick of college right now. It seems as though I've been studying for tests solid for the last couple of months. Next quarter, I'm hoping I'll be able to take easier classes. I still need to take another Music Theory class but at least I don't need any more speech classes or nutrition classes.

Tests

Today I have two tests so I need to go study. Wish me luck!

Tests and Chocolate

Tomorrow I have a test in Nutrition. Fortunately, since I did well on the other two and one of the three is dropped, it doesn't really matter how well I do on this one. Haha. :) Unfortunately, I still need to learn the material as it might be on the final. At least the test is on a cool topic, chocolate and caffeine. Speaking of chocolate, that's just what I'll need when I study. I think I'm addicted... So, tonight I'll probably make some sort of awesome chocolate dessert, it helps releave the stress.
On a brighter note, Kathleen is taking me to La'Conner in a couple of weeks. We're going to go shopping and out to a fancy dinner. Her mom is even paying for us to have our own hotel room. Ri bought me a red dress to wear to our fancy dinner. It is floor length and actually looks okay on me. (I hate wearing dresses)

Just ANother Tuesday

Last night, Kathleen came over for dinner. We had fun hanging out and chatting. Then, we decided that we wanted some air pop popcorn. Unfortunately we were out of butter. My mom realizes that she needs some groceries anyways so we head to the store. We forgot to keep track of time though and we were still shopping when Kathleen's dad came to pick her up from my house. Oops... So we ended up rushing home and Kathleen went home before we could make the popcorn.
Today nothing out of the ordinary is planned. I go to classes then head home to study, practice piano & guitar, and maybe go on a walk with Kathleen.

The Dreaded Monday

Friday was alot of fun. Since I didn't have school I invited my friend Kathleen over to hang out (she also had the day off). When Ri got home that evening, we talked for hours about random topics. Then Hope called, she was bored, so she also came over. We decided to have dinner together so Kathleen and I made taco soup (which was really good!). After dinner, Hope left to visit her boyfriend so Kathleen, Ri, and I talked my mom into renting Father of the Bride 2. We were in a weird mood (since we had Friday off:) so we went to the rental store in matching pajamas, then we went to the grocery store to buy butter (for our popcorn), and then to Starbucks. We got lots of strange looks. It was So much fun.
Saturday was mostly very boring. We didn't do anything until the evening when my mom took us to the mall. Going to the mall was fun, but Kennely Keys was out of the guitar book I was looking for.
Sunday (yesterday), we went to church in the morning. Then, we went to the assisted living community with Evan to play hymns which went really well. We stopped at Starbucks on the way home:). In the evening, we went to a spaghetti feed with Kathleen.
So that's pretty much my crazy weekend. Any questions?

It's Raining, It's Pouring

"You make rainy Mondays feel like Fridays"-Sanctus Real

It is so wet here in Seattle. It was supposed to be sunny according to the weather forcasters but I think they were just trying to be optimistic. At least I have tomorrow off from school (Ohhh Right!). I think that I'll take my mum out to Starbucks after school today. Ri is busy babysitting today so I'll probably give Kathleen a call.
Speech class is going great. Apparently most of the class totally failed the mid-term so my teacher changed the grading scale so she wouldn't have to fail most of the class. That took my A- up to an A and I have 18 ex. credit points. If I keep up the grade, I won't even need to take the final to get an A in the class.
I started learning "We Three Kings" on guitar for my piano teacher's Christmas party. She said that I can play it instead of a piano piece. Maybe I'll play a piano piece too, I'm not sure. There's this really cool version of "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" by Manheim Steamroller that I have piano sheet music for. I'm thinking about trying it. It's supposed to sound like a rock-n-roll version...

It's Tuesday!

I totally forgot to tell about Sunday... On Sunday, Kathleen, Ri, and I decided to get out and get some exercise so we went on a walk. By the time we got home we were completely soaked to the bone. Then, as we walked home, we saw Hope drive past on her way to my house. So we ran home to meet her. Hope felt like going on a walk so we went out again. This time, we walked all the way to her boyfriend's house and then decided to walk to Tirzah's house. We probably walked for about two hours in the pouring rain before getting home just in time for dinner. You can imagine how wet and cold we were... But, we got our exercise! (I think we walked about 6 miles or so...)
Last night, Hope came over for dinner, quiche (which was very good if I do say so myself) and a movie. We also made chocolate chunk cookies that were very tasty. We watched "The Thin Man", it is a 1930s movie. It's the first of the Nick and Nora movies. It was really good.

Vegetarianism

First of all, I'm sorry that I haven't posted in over a week. I had some pretty hard mid-terms and I had to study alot. Anyways, I'll be posting more regularly now.
Starting on the 1st of Nov. I've been a lacto-ovo-vegetarian. In other words, I eat dairy and eggs but not meat. It's an extra credit assignment from my nutrition teacher. It isn't that hard except for when my mom makes her delicious dinners and I can't eat them... I mean, yesterday, she made a grilled chicken salad which is my favorite but I couldn't eat it. I'm doing this for one month but my nutrition teacher said that I could take thanksgiving off (boy am I looking forward to that turkey!).
