Another day in the life...

Today is like the last day of my spring break. I'm sad. :( Ri went babysitting tonight so I'm at home with nothing to keep me company but my computer, CDs, and Guitars. Tomorrow, I'm going to a show at the Fifth Avenue in downtown Seattle with my grandma and then in the evening my family is going out to Cold Stones to celebrate my straight A's for winter quarter (YIPPEE!!!). Yet, today nothing seems to be happening....
I talked my sister into taking a picture of me for my profile pic but I didn't like it so I didn't put it up. Speaking of pics, my dad has a dreadful picture of Rabenstrange that I was considering posting but Rabenstrange threatened to post some horrid pictures of me so I didn't. Among my black mail pics of Rabenstrang is a picture of him wearing my dress (when he was four), him taking a bath with our cousin Beth (when he was three or something like that), and him in a towel (current he he he). Too bad he has such awful pics of me.....

My favorite things to do (in no particular order)
Go to cool christian concerts like Kutless, Switchfoot, Disciple, and Stellar Kart
Go out to icecream with Ri
Have a nice jucey talk with Rabenstrange
Play my guitar
Go rollerbladding or ice skating

Just Another Crazy Wednesday

Wednesdays at my house are CRAZY. This morning I practiced piano and guitar (oh the sweetness of Gibson) before lunch. Luckily, I'm on spring break. After lunch, Ri and I went for a jog. I decided to test out my workout outfit that I recently bought for gym this coming quarter. Ri said that it looked cute on but it feels awkward wearing workout clothing.
After jogging, we went to piano lessons on Mercer Island. Fortunately today, I didn't forget anything. The lesson went well.
Then, we went home and made dinner before going to orchestra practice. Orchestra practice went well besides the fact that our director is moving to a different church leaving us without a director. Rumor has it that our church is trying to disolve the orchestra and choir (Uggghhhhhhhhhhh).

So, let's see something interesting, how 'bout a quote...
Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving. -Albert Einstein

And yes, I know, I still need to post a new pic. I'm hoping to do that soon.

Super Ugly

My cousin received an "ugly doll" for her birthday and I found it funny so I looked further into them. The ugly doll company has many different dolls including two sided ones. Every kid should have one. I can just imagine... instead of little girls carrying around their baby dolls, they start carrying around these monsters. Well I found them pretty funny. To see the whole collection go to www.uglydolls.com.

This morning, I picked up my books for Spring quarter. They cost me about $250! It's rediculous how much college books cost, as if college isn't pricey enough without crazy high book prices.

INTERNET!!!!!

I finally have internet access again! My dad did somethin and its working. Needless to say, that makes me really happy. Also I got back my grades and this quarter I got straight A's at college. That makes me REALLY REALLY happy.
And then of course, there's my new Gibson, les paul studio electric guitar with double humbuckers, solid mahogoney body, sweet pickups, unlacquered neck............... I could go on forever. She's sweet. A couple of the employees at Guitar Center seemed sad to see her go. She plays way better than my Eleca guitar. I'm planning on posting some pics soon.
I also need to post a new profile pic. The pic on my profile doesn't look much like me anymore. I have short hair and my guitar is much cooler.

Crazy day

The last couple days have been crazy for me. Yesterday I went out to lunch with my parents since I did so well this quarter at college. Today I picked up a copy of Kutless' new Album, "Hearts of the Innocent" but I still haven't gotten to listen to it, and the biggest thing: this morning I went to guitar center and picked out a guitar that I might buy. It is a Gibson Les Paul and its freekin awesome. It's on sale for $500 off this weekend and so I put it on hold. I might buy it. (If I buy it I'll post pics) Well I got to go.........

Last Day O'Finals

I just finished my last final this morning and it feels great. Tomorrow I'm going out and about with my mom which is cool. I'm going to pick up a copy of Kutless' new album that came out on Sunday "Hearts of the Innocent". Their last albums rock so it'll probably be pretty good. The songs that they played from it at the concert on Saturday were sweet.
Unfortunately, now that the quarter is over, it's time to buy new books. College books are WAY over priced. My astronomy book which wasn't even necessary this quarter was like seventy some dollars. This quarter I'm taking gym, for workout pants and a top I paid almost $50. Now that's just CRAZY.

On Saturday, I went to the Kutless, Stellar Kart, Falling Up, and Disciple concert. I wasn't expecting to enjoy Disciple but I was surprised. They were AWESOME! I liked them so much that I bought their t-shirt. Besides the Disciple t-shirt, I also bought a Stellar Kart shirt and I found a Kutless shirt that somebody had lost. I looked for the owner of the shirt but couldn't find anyone who was missing a shirt so I kept it (good thing that it was my size).
The bands were really friendly. I got my pictures with them and they signed my shirts and CDs. Also, I got my picture with the bouncer who practically kept my ribs intact at the last Kutless concert I went to.

If any of you fellow bloggers like good rock music, you should go to their concert when they're in your area. Go to www.kutless.com for tour dates.

By the way, one of the many reasons that I haven't posted is that I'm sick. If I don't post for a few days don't be surprised.

An Early St. Patrick's Day

Today my English class was canceled, AGAIN! My teacher claims to be sick. It's kinda annoying though cause it's a seven-thirty class. If I had known that he wasn't going to show up, I could have slept in.
Today my family is celebrating St. Patricks Day with our usual St. Patrick's Day dinner: corn beef, cabbage, red potatoes, onion, carrot, root beer, green jello and shamrock cookies. I wanted to celebrate on Friday, but our uncle is going to be out of town so we had to celebrate early.

Here's some Info on St. Patrick.....

Who Was St. Patrick? St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, is one of Christianity's most widely known figures. But for all his celebrity, his life remains somewhat of a mystery. Many of the stories traditionally associated with St. Patrick, including the famous account of his banishing all the snakes from Ireland, are false, the products of hundreds of years of exaggerated storytelling.Taken Prisoner By Irish RaidersIt is known that St. Patrick was born in Britain to wealthy parents near the end of the fourth century. He is believed to have died on March 17, around 460 A.D. Although his father was a Christian deacon, it has been suggested that he probably took on the role because of tax incentives and there is no evidence that Patrick came from a particularly religious family. At the age of sixteen, Patrick was taken prisoner by a group of Irish raiders who were attacking his family's estate. They transported him to Ireland where he spent six years in captivity. (There is some dispute over where this captivity took place. Although many believe he was taken to live in Mount Slemish in County Antrim, it is more likely that he was held in County Mayo near Killala.) During this time, he worked as a shepherd, outdoors and away from people. Lonely and afraid, he turned to his religion for solace, becoming a devout Christian. (It is also believed that Patrick first began to dream of converting the Irish people to Christianity during his captivity.) Guided By VisionsAfter more than six years as a prisoner, Patrick escaped. According to his writing, a voice—which he believed to be God's—spoke to him in a dream, telling him it was time to leave Ireland.
To do so, Patrick walked nearly 200 miles from County Mayo, where it is believed he was held, to the Irish coast. After escaping to Britain, Patrick reported that he experienced a second revelation—an angel in a dream tells him to return to Ireland as a missionary. Soon after, Patrick began religious training, a course of study that lasted more than fifteen years. After his ordination as a priest, he was sent to Ireland with a dual mission—to minister to Christians already living in Ireland and to begin to convert the Irish. (Interestingly, this mission contradicts the widely held notion that Patrick introduced Christianity to Ireland.) Bonfires and CrossesFamiliar with the Irish language and culture, Patrick chose to incorporate traditional ritual into his lessons of Christianity instead of attempting to eradicate native Irish beliefs. For instance, he used bonfires to celebrate Easter since the Irish were used to honoring their gods with fire. He also superimposed a sun, a powerful Irish symbol, onto the Christian cross to create what is now called a Celtic cross, so that veneration of the symbol would seem more natural to the Irish. (Although there were a small number of Christians on the island when Patrick arrived, most Irish practiced a nature-based pagan religion. The Irish culture centered around a rich tradition of oral legend and myth. When this is considered, it is no surprise that the story of Patrick's life became exaggerated over the centuries—spinning exciting tales to remember history has always been a part of the Irish way of life. )

It Snowed!!!

Yesterday it snowed while I was teaching a piano lesson. Needless to say, my student was quite distracted. Unfortunately, none of it stuck.
Also, yesterday I had a scare that all of my classes for next quarter had been dropped. Since I didn't pay within a week of registering, my transcript was blocked. To put it lightly, I freaked out.
I'm taking my mom out to lunch so I gotta go. Gyro World, here I come!

Rain Rain go away

It's pouring down rain here in Seattle, but then what's new? Ri and I went on a walk and now we're soaked to the bone. It actually feels quite nice though. I just can't wait until the pool that we have a membership to opens so that we can swim on rainy days like today.
Well I can't post much today cause I have tests that I need to study for... BYE!

The Austier Academy

Ri took her first violin lesson on Monday. Since then, she's been practicing in our bedroom. Unfortunately, a beginner violinist doesn't sound quite like the ones you hear in a symphony. Her playing sounds more like some kind of animal being killed. Supposedly it gets better with practice. I sure hope it does, I've already gotten two headaches from it. For those of you who have never heard a squeaky violin, Lemony Snicket does an excellent job describing the sound of one in his book The Austier Academy. When I hear my sister practice, it reminds me of this book. Its my favorite of the Series of Unfortunate Events books and within the last week, it's become quite real to me.

Hawk Nelson

Continuing on with my favorite bands.... Here is Hawk Nelson, a Christian punk band from Canada. Their first CD was a huge success and so they were asked to play in the new Yours Mine and Ours movie that came out last year. They will be releasing a new CD, "Smile, its the end of the World" this coming spring. If you haven't heard them and you like punk, check them out.
