And the weather continues to become hotter...

Today I went to church with my family in the morning. After church, there was a picnic which was fun. There were some Australians around my age, but unfortunately, they're only going to be here in the US for like a month. I was hoping that we would actually have some younger people at the church for a change. After the picnic, Matthew had a couple friends over and we went swimming and there were over 100 people IN the pool. It was crazy!

It's Crazy Hot!

This morning my family went to see Kung Fu Panda at Kent Station. I had already seen it with my internship group in Centralia, but it was fun going out to the movies with my siblings. I never realized how many stars they had in the cast. There was Angelina Jolie, Jack Black, Jackie Chan, and Lucy Liu. Not many childrens' movies have four bigger actors/actresses in the cast.
After the movie, I went to a friend's graduation party. Unfortunately, she lives in Covington and I drove during traffic. I got frustrated when I had trouble finding one of the turns (I haven't been to her house in over a year). On the way home, my sister saw a thermometer that read in at 97 F. I don't want to know how hot the car was. All I can say is that I'm sure glad that Seattle doesn't get as hot as Cambodia or Thailand. The heat there is killer...

A Day in the Life

Today was a busy day. This morning, I went with my mom and some of my siblings to Green Lake. Ri and I bladed around it, I think its 5 miles, so its really easy to blade. Then I had an interview for Godiva's in Bell-Square. I think it went well, I'm going to a second interview on Tuesday. Then, when I got home, I swam a mile with Matthew and Mason. By the way, swimming makes me eat like a junior high boy. I am shocked at how hungry I've been.

All I try to do is write music that feels meaningful to me, that has commitment and passion behind it. And I guess I feel that if what I'm writing about is real, and if there's emotion, then hey, there'll be somebody who wants to hear it.

Swimming

Yesterday, Matt talked Arita and I into going up to the pool to swim laps. He set the goal of swimming a mile. It was my first time actually going to swim laps this year and I managed to swim the entire mile. It felt amazing, so we've decided to try getting up there everyday and swimming a mile.
I also went with my family to the Farmer's Market in Renton. It was fun, as I enjoyed walking around smelling the smells and looking at all the beautiful flowers.

Home Sweet Home

I've now been home for a week. Things are very different and that's for sure. I no longer have to be somewhere at 7:30 every morning, so I've gotten into the habit of sleeping in. I've decided that today is the end of that. I hate wasting perfectly good days by sleeping them away. However, after the last 9 months, I deserved a little extra rest.
Since I'm going back to college this fall, I'm looking for a job to help cover the expenses. So far, I've applied at Jamba Juice, American Eagle, and Godiva's. Today I'm going to put in an application at Starbucks. The lady working there the other day said that I was almost for sure going to be offered a job there.
On Wednesday night, I have my first private guitar lesson. It'll be interesting to actually have assignments and things that someone has given me to work on. I'm used to just playing whatever I feel like. I'm really looking forward to improving my skills. Well, that's what's been going on recently.

Bowling and Painting

Yesterday our mystery trip was bowling. It was funny though cause I can't bowl at all. I rolled lots of gutter balls and did the worst by far. Everyone got a good laugh out of me though.
Today Liana and I had a girls day. We went and got mochas in the morning and headed to the mall in Olympia. At the mall, Liana bought some cute earrings and then she found these really cute tennis shoes that she bought me as a going away present. Next we went to the Painted Plate which is a ceramic art gallery and painted dishes. Liana painted a mug and I painted a Japanese soup dish. We didn't finish though so we're going back tomorrow after church.
Before going home, we went and got lunch at Chopstix, which is an Asian food restaurant. They serve dishes from all different countries in Asia. I got the Japanese dish which was soba with chicken. It was really good.

Mystery Trip Day

Today as a GTC group we're going to a team event surprise trip. It should be interesting. We have no idea what it is. Yesterday we finished our final scripture test so we are done with homework for the year. Hallelujah! I am sooo happy. Tomorrow Liana (my host mom) and I are going to go out for mochas and go to a ceramics art gallery to paint. We're going to have alot of fun. I can't wait. Well, I'll have to post again after the outings to say how they went.

Graduation

On Sunday the 15th, I'll be graduating from GTC! Huzzah! I'll be moving back home right after the ceremony. If you want to, come to the graduation. It'll be at Destiny Christian Center @ 7:00p.m. If you want to carpool, talk to my family, as I'm pretty sure they have room in the van. Hope to see you there!
